Integrated Apllications

The Integrated Applications Promotion (IAP) programme, which is ARTES 20 (user-driven applications), and the ARTES 3-4 Telecommunications Applications element (product-driven applications), are dedicated to development, implementation and pilot operations, utilising not only Telecommunications satellites, but also combining the use of different types of space assets, including Earth Observation and Navigation, as well as Human Spaceflight technologies.

P3ITS: Pre-Commercial Procurement for Intelligent Transport Systems or Services

P3ITS is a Support Action funded by the European Commission, DG Information Society and Media, under the 7th Framework Programme for Research and technological development, and is aiming at maintaining a network of both ITS and legal and procurement experts to trigger a debate which would clarify how Pre-Commercial Procurement could be used for ITS. It is coordinating by ERTICO – ITS Europe.

The “Pre-Commercial Procurement for ITS” handbook, produced by the P3ITS consortium, is the result of 18 months of analysis and exchange between public procurement and ITS experts, which happened under the EU-funded P3ITS project. It is a guide describing in five steps the necessary tasks that should be performed before launching a Pre-Commercial Procurement phase for Intelligent Transport Systems or Services. © P3ITS, © ERTICO.







Easy-OBU (Enhanced (EGNOS/EDAS) Accuracy System with GNSS Outage Bridging Unit) is a European Research Project co-funded in the 7th framework programme of the European Commission.

The Objective of Easy-OBU is to introduce and demonstrate an inexpensive and portable on-board-unit (OBU) with open interfaces that allows retrospective robust positioning of vehicles for those instances where no or insufficient signal reception from navigation satellites were available. This will be achieved by the combination of inexpensive inertial sensors with an innovative ‘non-causal filtering’ approach. For this purpose data will be collected in-vehicle and transferred to a back-office, where processing can be carried out. The interfaces needed for that will be open and well documented to encourage third party application developers. Field test will help evaluate the performance of the system. © Easy-OBU
