Radiofrequency (RF) Engineer

Our team in Orlando, Florida, is looking for an Radiofrequency (RF) Engineer, in charge of development of Software Defined Radio (SDR) and GNU radio applications to receive satellite beacons and downlinks. 

Specific tasks will include:

  • Collect satellite beacon modem signals as samples in a file for analysis outside of GNU radio
  • Configure SDR device to receive these signals
  • Configure GNU radio to control the SDR device and display the received beacon or downlink in a spectrum analyzer and spectogram display
  • Sample modem signal and save to a file

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Knowledge of satellites and satellite signal reception
  • Selection and setup of UHF antennas
  • Use of the Ettus E3xx family of SDR devices
  • Configuration and operation of GNU Radio
  • C++ Programming
  • Software development on the Linux platform
  • Ettus UHD driver internal structure
  • US person (citizen, green card)
  • Secret clearance or ability to obtain clearance
  • Microsoft Office proficiency

Desired Qualifications/Experience:

  • Use of the Signal Hound BBC60c receiver
  • Understanding of Ettus UHD driver and ability to modify the C++ code for custom features
  • Configuration and operation of GNU Radio
  • BS degree in engineering discipline
  • 5+ year professional experience
  • Familiarity with Agile development
